My entry for this month’s Character Design Challenge: a Sailor Moon character! I’ve always had ideas to redesign the Senshi as their Greek/Roman counterparts, and I love how Minako takes her role as goddess of love very seriously (because dating the Three Lights and getting Rei hitched is serious business). So, after looking up some good ol’ Botticelli reference, here’s Goddess Minako Venus! 

Also, the Holy Moon Sword has got to be strictly ornamental. Way too unbalanced and fancy for anything else. But I guess it stabbed Beryl. Twice. So whatever. 

PS Since a bow is not exactly fitting in classical Botticelli mythological fashion, I opted for pomegranate blossoms. They’re red and symbolic for Venus!
