little mermaid AU, except they kiss within 3 days and there are no hostile takeovers. Also, instead of a seagull and a crab, prince victor gets chris, the eccentric marine biologist. And yuuri isn’t a prince- he’s a school teacher (vic just thinks he’s a prince lol).

Falling Star

docholligay:

This is a post of a former Patreon exclusive, commissioned by @rhiorhino She asked for a rewrite of a Labyrinth scene, Harumichi style. NOT ACTUALLY VERY EASY AT ALL. I didn’t like it initially, but it’s become one of my favorites. I’ve always found this scene intensely fucking creepy, and I really enjoyed getting to really cast in that light instead of romanticized as it usually is.

They weren’t lost, and this proved a problem for Michiru. She did not much care for problems. She had enough of them, by her measure, before stumbling into some girl at the bottom of an oubliette. Now her problems had only tripled in number, by a conservative estimate.

She had been trying to lose Haruka subtley, to give a wrong direction or a misleading shake of the head, but it did not seem to matter. Whatever guided Haruka to the castle beyond the Goblin City was within her, and all of Michiru’s gentle nudges in the wrong direction were fruitless. They drew closer and closer, and Michiru could feel Jareth’s ire rise as Haruka nimbly dodged his every obstacle.

Michiru would not have assumed Haruka was so clever, when she met her, and neither had Jareth.

She reached into her bag, and felt the peach there. Jareth had given it to her, promised her it wouldn’t hurt Haruka, not really, merely distract her, that was all she needed to do, was distract Haruka, and her debt to Jareth would be repaid. She would be free.

And freedom always came with a price.

IT’S THE TIME AGAIN MY LITTLE FIG NEWTONS. The return of the much-ballyhooed Same Prompt Party

So the basic premise is: We all write a fic, or draw an art,  based on the same prompt, and I make a big old masterpost so you have tons of  Haruka x Michiru fics and fine arts to read by firelight during the cold days of Angstober. Your prompt for this month is:

Harumichi Cinderella! Retell all or a part of Cinderella with harumichi.

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

  • Between 500 and 4500 words, to keep Dickensian trash like me from writing a novel, and also because I commit to read them all.
  • Has to use the prompt .Pretty clear
  • Due by Friday, the 29th. Please send me the link to sailorvagina AT gmail (my usual thing: it’s a long and Minako-based story), I am going to make a master post with everyone’s stories linked.
  • The prize is that we all get to read a bunch of stories/art about Cinderruka/Cinderchiru

That’s it! People I already know have ideas: @elleskinner @madegeeky I think @awashsquid ???

Also, EVERYONE ELSE. I would love to see what y’all come up with, you are constantly surprising me with your skills and I love reading your stuff and looking at it and listening to it, you all make me feel things. MAKE THE WORLD FEEL THINGS.  Just join the party!

“Just got off a healthcare coalition call with Senator Schumer. His message:

1. Grassroots pressure will determine whether this passes.
2. They’re not seeing nearly the response there was to the House bill. That needs to change.
3. It’s make or break this week. Unlikely McConnell will drag this on past next week because he wants to move on to tax cuts.
4. The following Senators are wavering and need to be flooded with contacts:

1. Heller is the most important (R-NV) (202) 224-6244
2. Collins (R-ME) (202) 224-2523
3. Murkowski (R-AK) (202) 224-6665
4. Capito (R-WV) (202) 224-6472
5. Cassidy (R-LA) (202) 224-5824
6. Flake (R-AZ) (202) 224-4521
7. Gardner (R-CO) (202) 224-5941
8. Portman (R-OH) (202) 224-3353
9. Cruz (yes, that Cruz – he’s facing a tough reelection battle) (R-TX) (202) 224-5922
10. Paul (R-KY) (202) 224-4343
11. Lee (R-UT) (202) 224-5444
12. Sasse (R-NE) (202) 224-4224

Share this list on social media and find people who live in those states and impress the urgency of this on them. Those phones need to ring like crazy starting today.”

please PLEASE call.

ONLY call your own senator, if they’re not yours you’re taking up time from their constituents who they’re more likely to take seriously.

(I heard similarly from Senator Schumer’s office but also talked to health care people on twitter who strongly recommend not contacting outside of your district.)

But yes, this is important and good. Please reblog.
