YES this is basically what we have been ranting about. Het ships being made canon, despite everything that suggests it would not work, nevermind nevermind hets always get the romance, instead of friendship (i also would love to see more het friendship) whereas even if a non het pairing has AMAZING chemistry and love and SO MUCH feeling for each other, oh no nevermind the fans are reading too much into it, it’s all about friendship 🙂 🙂 🙂

AHAHA Do I sense just a *touch* of bitterness there, Rosa? I do know your pain very well at this point though, and I’ve screamed about it to you so much now that I’m sure the cosmos is sick of reverberating with it. Idk if it’s because I’m becoming older and just more done with how ~romance~ is acted out but I just feel kind of like it’s the same tired old thing? Idk maybe I’m just not looking in the right places.

i dont think this is an unpopular opinion, at least in our side of the fandom! that whole relationships is weird and creepy and she’s so young, and ugh that aspect of season 4 creeps me out so much.

ANYWAY i should shut up, but yeah i really hate them together too.

UGH ROSA PLEASE SAVE ME YOU KNOW MY PAIN SO WELL. 

I mean…I feel like it’s one of the more popular ships? I know that in our ‘side’ of the fandom things range very widely and strangely and a lot of people deviate from the “standard” ships that the manga/anime introduce but I just…Idk! I’ve just been so tired of movies and shows throwing romance (mostly het but you know, any) in our faces that sometimes they don’t take the time to just like…focus on friendships. I AM IN IT TO WIN IT FOR FRIENDS. Like in Strange Magic, for instance! BOG AND MARIANE (marianne?) WOULD BE GREAT SNARKY BEST FRIENDS I FEEL but they get their obligatory het happy ending and sure, it’s cute but like…I love friends! I kind of wish people wouldn’t take the easy way out and just let people be loving and caring but not in a “~I want you forever to bang and stuff~” kind of way.

reasons people think i give and recommend they read certain books: so that they can enjoy them and gain a sense of fulfilment
actual reasons I give and recommend people read books: so that they suffer, because I have suffered, in solitude, unable to find peace till the day when my pain dwells in another and they look at me, knowingly, with a look of crestfallen understanding as they too have felt the sharp twist of those words upon their souls and it brings me the slightest of comforts in these bleak times
