a few thoughts on my first day:

-when your one (1) and only QC inspector is so stressed by having no support from the supervisors, no work processes, and no viable working tools that she immediately declares that she’s going to quit in two (2) months to the new Inspector…..maybe you have a problem.

-Having absolutely no fucking work processes to go off of, no drawings with dimensions or tolerances, is fucking insane and I hated it immediately and want to wring some engineer’s necks

-my last job was truly a #blessing for letting me sit and inspect parts for 8-10 hours a day; it’s been 5 years since i worked retail and lemme tell you. standing hunched over boxes for 5 ½ hours was Not Fun.

-as much as i chill on my computer typing and drawing, i’ve never feared for my wrists as much as i did today, sanding roughly 200 aluminum tubes

-if you get enough aluminum dust on you, you almost look like a distant cousin to the Tin Man

-that shit is hard to scrub out of your fingertips

-it’s kinda sad when people need cash so badly that, when asked how they like their job, they shrug and look around before saying in That Tone “well, y’know, it’s not bad”

of course the only open parking spot near my apt was super irritating to work my way into and took me like 5 bazillion hours to make sure I didn’t hit the car in front of me and also wasn’t parked in a “fuck you here’s a ticket” spot

and of fucking course as soon as I walked away four spots simultaneously opened up I’m not fucking kidding three cars side by side left and then this lady walked up to her truck to leave and I just stood there all salty about the world
