I really am not fond of the “parent abuses/neglects child for x amount of years and then suddenly wants back in their life so they use money (generally exorbitant amounts of it) to buy the kid’s affections.” 

Especially when the ‘child’ in question is fucking 38 years old.

And has just come out of a 10 year abusive relationship and needs to find their own self and their own footing.

And the parent decides that no, THEY know what’s best for the other person, they need to buy everything and do everything and no, they won’t hear another word about it and they’re being super controlling over how the other person lives their life (rushes them to find a job, rushes them to cut ties with the ex so that it’s sloppy and shE FUCKING EMAILED THE EX FROM HIS ACCOUNT AND IT WAS A NASTY NOTE HE WOULD NEVER SEND SO NOW THE EX IS ALL ANGRY WOW MOM GOOD JOB etc etc) and I’m just like …??????
