Emily and Tracer’s first Valentines?

ANON YOU KNOW MY HEART. This was the first Valentine’s prompt I took today, and I hope you like it! 1500 words, roughly. The rest of this OW verse is HERE. 

Emily was nervous. They had been dating long enough that, she reasoned, at some point she should stop being so, but it was their first Valentine’s Day together, and she hoped her gift wasn’t too much. It had seemed like such a good idea, when she had spoken to Winston about it–something that would show Tracer how serious she was about her, how much she meant to her, that she was willing to have a contractor rip apart the walls of her flat over the course of three weeks.

But maybe it would be too much. Maybe it would make her think Emily was moving too fast.

She looked in the mirror, nervously pulling on the edge of her purple silk dress. Tracer loved in her in purple, said it brought out the lovely freckles on her shoulders. Tracer would draw constellations between them, some nights, making up legends to tell Emily, stories she swore had been hidden on her back all these years.

A knock came from the door, and she tucked her hair behind her ear and swung open the door. There was Tracer, grin and arms wide, bearing a bouquet of roses and a box of heart shaped chocolates.
