Deep Submerge: A Kaioh cocktail

This is one of the most elegant, complicated, and expensive cocktails I’ve ever made. Michiru would have it no other way. It really does work for her, I think–it’s beautiful, and floral, and sparkles on the palate. It’s one of my favorite cocktails I’ve ever come up with, honestly. It’s like walking through a carefully manicured garden and ending up drunk. 

I embedded links for the harder to find items at Amazon, but I don’t have an affiliate program or anything, I’m just trying to make it easier for y’all. I use a standard shotglass for all measurements, because I think it makes it easier, and for my money, the best bar shaker you can buy, if you don’t have one, is this oxo one. 

You will need:

  • 1/3 shot Teisseire mint syrup –it’s gotta be this French brand, the flavor and color are just right
  • champagne to top

Put everything but the champagne in your shaker with ice, shake until chilled. You might need to drink a little down, and then top with champagne. Using a pair of chopsticks, lower your flower into the bottom of the glass for presentation.

THE SPARKLE SPARKLE ROSE PETAL, A DRINK FOR THE DISCERNING LESBIAN

2 oz Highwood Chocolate Whiskey

1 oz Rose liqueur (either make your own or from Vom Fass

A tart hard cider to fill (I used The Muse by Angry Orchard) 

Rim glass with a light pink superfine rimming sugar (ahaha rimming MINAKO PLZ) The result should be imperfect, giving the suggestion of falling rose petals. 

Add both the whiskey and the rose liqueur to glass. Fill with hard cider, and garnish with a brandied cherry. Elegantly sweet without being cloying, with a slightly creamy finish in the mouth (ahahah cream–MINAKO SERIOUSLY)
